Low Urine Volume: Dehydration is one of the main reasons for low urine volume. As the fluid intake in the body decreases, the urine concentration increases leading to the non-dissolution of salts and minerals. Hence stones are produced.

Diet: Excess levels of calcium, protein and salt in the diet will lead to the formation of kidney stones.

Medical Conditions: Disorders like cystinuria, hyperoxaluria, and distal renal tubular acidosis are widely responsible for kidney stones.

Medication: Vitamin and calcium supplements may be the cause of kidney stones. It is suggested to inform them about their previous medications to the health care provider.

Family History: There is always a higher possibility of kidney stones when parents or siblings have records.
