TURP is carried out using an instrument called a resectoscope. This is a metal material thin tube containing a light and camera.

The loop of wire in the instrument resectoscope has an electric current that can cut away the section of your prostate causing symptoms.

Later a catheter is inserted in the urethra to pump out the extra fluid into the bladder and flush away the pieces of the prostate. TURP surgery reduces the symptoms of BPH as well.
